Murieston Community Development Trust is a Scottish Charitable incorporated Organisation, SC052716, regulated by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). Our website address is: https://murieston-cdt.org.uk.

What data do we collect?

Personal identification information:

  • For all users: name and email address

In addition:

  • If you sign up as an individual member: address, your date of birth and the date you joined
  • If an organisation signs up as a member: address, representative name, representative email address, company and/or charity number
  • If you sign up as a volunteer: the volunteer interests you have
  • If you donate: your name, address, email address and record of donations

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide Murieston Community Development Trust with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:

  • Sign up as a member (either online, by email, or on paper)
  • Sign up as a volunteer (either online, by email, or on paper)
  • Donate to us (either online, on by contacting us)
  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies

How will we use your data?

Murieston Community Development Trust collects your data so that we can fulfil our legal duties, process GiftAid claims, and to engage with members and volunteers:

  • To keep a roll of current members
  • To keep a roll of current trustees
  • To provide information required by HMRC for us to claim Gift Aid
  • To email members and volunteers to keep you informed of activities, opportunities, and membership renewals

We will not share your data with other parties.

How we store your data

Our organisation securely stores your data at a physically secure data centre within Europe. It is secured through use of SSL encryption and careful use of access rights. Website administrators and authorised individuals can see and edit that information.

Our organisation will keep your personal data for the time you are a member or volunteer.  If you cease to be a member or volunteer, your personal data will be kept for a year before being deleted. Donation data will be kept anonymously for longer, in order to maintain full financial records.

Emails

We send emails in the following circumstances:

  • As part of membership, emails will be sent to members to inform of meetings, including our AGM, and membership renewal. These will include an update on charity progress.
  • For volunteers, emails will be sent informing of volunteer opportunities.
  • If you donate to us directly on our website, an email receipt will be sent on our behalf by Stripe, our payment processor. We may also send an annual summary for use if you need to complete a tax return.

What are your data protection rights?

Murieston Community Development Trust would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access: You have the right to make a request to Murieston Community Development Trust for copies of your personal data. We may charge a small fee for this service.
  • The right to rectification: You have the right to request that Murieston Community Development Trust correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that Murieston Community Development Trust complete information you believe is incomplete.
